Their slogan, "Linux for Humans" really sums it up, they have made Linux a real possibility for normal everyday humans, not just the supernerds. The issue I have with Linux isn't a matter of operating systems. Operating systems don't really matter to me, what matters is software. Open Office is a viable alternative to MS Office (I use open Office on my windows PC). What about open source design software such as the Gimp(photoshop), InkScape(illustrator), and Scribus(quark/indesign). Are these viable alternatives to Adobe software? I'm not sure they're ready yet, but they are closing in. What about flash, after effects, and premier/final cut? Are there Linux alternatives to these? What percent of the market does Linux have to have for Adobe and other software makers to port their software? Can Linux get that market share without having the software?
